What is a “Political Movement”?
By definition a Political Movement is a social group working together to achieve a political goal. Throughout history political movements have shaped many legislative items and have reached countless goals.
Susan B. Anthony was arrested and tried for voting in the presidential election of 1872. When she was found guilty she stated,
“… you have trampled under foot every vital principle of our government. My natural rights, my civil rights, my political rights, my judicial rights, are all alike ignored.” And “But your honor will not deny me this one and only poor privilege of protest against this high-handed outrage upon my citizen’s rights.”
